Medical Astrology
Medical Astrology is just what it sounds like. It is using astrology to access health and healing. It is thought that the origins of astrology was used to diagnose and determine the outcome and course of healing.
Each of the twelve zodiac signs governs different parts of the body. There is a classic image depicting Aries at the head moving down the body progressing through the zodiac ending with Pisces at the feet. When there are imbalances in the body, the house, sign, and planet associated with the area can be accessed.
The 6th House is the house of health, the 1st House represents the physical body. Both of the these houses, the signs on the cusps, and the planets that rule those houses are reviewed along with aspects being made.
Mars is hot (very hot) and dry and is often implicated in inflammatory conditions.
Saturn is cold and tends to slow things down.
The Sun, Moon, and Ascendant are also important in medical astrology and are accessed as well.
The seven planets are expressed in the major glands of the body and are said to receive influence from the planets.
The Pineal - Saturn energy. This is the body’s time clock.
The Pituitary - Jupiter energy. The master gland, regulates the entire system of glands.
The Thyroid - Mars energy. Heat regulation for the body.
The Thymus - Sun energy. Sits near the heart, governs the vitality and resistance of the whole body.
The Pancreas - Venus energy. Maintains sugar levels in the body.
The Adrenals - Mercury energy. Gives alertness and notifies us to react quickly, communicates with the nervous system.
The Sex Glands (ovaries/testes) - Moon energy. Responsible for reproduction and fertility.
There are correlations to foods, herbs, flower essences, vitamins, and minerals to each of the signs.
