good morning

By Speaks Beliefs

golden dawn kisses sable skies
dreams ending…eyes opening
lids blinking flickering fluttering
sister sun and i emerging
rising together
ivory and taupe cumulus scatter
consequence is calmest weather
gold embracing blue
azure hue now in clear view
greeting morning star with salutations
acknowledging each other
knowingly aware of my purpose and i of hers
we pause
we reflect
now parting ways to shine on today
good morning

A Zeal for Truth

(By Dion Levy)

My tongue is on fire, My stomach can't withhold
My heartfelt desire is that the truth be told
My mind is yet focused, yet my body does tremble
Till the Word sounds throughout the room like a ringing cymbal

I find no peace, I found no sleep,
Until I have spoken what I was given to speak
My stomach is lit, my body's aflame
To proclaim the Matchless Name above all other Names

And preach on his joy unspeakable, his love ever so deep
His wisdom unthinkable, his forgiveness that reached
to the depths of the earth, to cleanse and to purge
men from thier sin, through the second birth

His Spirit is with me, working by day,
So i can worship and praise, and let him save who he has set out to save
His Spirit is with me, with mercy, through grace
To Jesus I say "Lord have your way!"

And peace will yet ring, love will yet sing
God endwelling his people through worship recieved
He'll tear down the strongholds, his power we'll see
We'll hear from heaven how it is to be healed and be free!

More will worship, more will accept him,
He'll work in our being Godly perfection
Yes i will serve him, Lord i'll rejoice,
Thy kingdom is within me, so i'll speak through your voice...

Writers Meet Editors at Editorchat

By Tim Beyers

striatic1For the past six weeks, freelance features writer Lydia Dishman (@LydiaBreakfast) and I (@milehighfool) have hosted #editorchat Wednesday evenings from 8-9:30 p.m. EST on Twitter.

Think of it as a real-time writer’s conference, only our aim is to cover topics that matter to writers and editors. We think that’s smart practice and, very likely, essential for survival in the fast-paced, ever-changing business of publishing.

And we’re not alone. Recent #editorchat participants include Patrick LaForge (@palafo), City Room editor for The New York Times, Ken Wheaton (@kenwheaton), a writer and editor for Advertising Age, Danny Sanchez (@dannysanchez), a multimedia journalist with the Orlando Sentinel, John Blyler (@dark_faust), editor of Chip Design Magazine, and, of course, your host at Editor Unleashed, Maria Schneider.

In earlier weeks #editorchat has covered the editorial impact of publishers chasing scarce profits, what constitutes fair pay and the rise of content crowdsourcing. Tonight we’ll be talking about the digital divide in publishing. Does it exist? And, if so, can it be bridged?

To participate:
Log into Twitter shortly before 8 p.m. and search for #editorchat. Messages posted with this “hashtag,” as it’s known, are aggregated into a conversation. Refresh the screen to see new messages.

You can also use the free TweetChat or TweetGrid services to follow the discussion. Enter your name and password and specify “#editorchat” as the room you wish to enter. To respond to a topic, post with “#editorchat” at the end of your message. (TweetChat and TweetGrid will do this for you, however.)

Writers have had plenty of reasons to be on Twitter. Now editors do, too.

Tim Beyers is a Fool. Really. For the past five years, he’s been a regular contributor to The Motley Fool covering technology, personal finance and airlines. He loves irony, freelancing, books and the occasional can of Mountain Dew. For more Editorchat, visit the blog, where you’ll find topics, transcripts and other editor-y goodness.

Sin of a Fool

By Elemental Wellness Guest Editor, Poet  Laureate

Mind-spinning, heart racing,
my vision: disarray, displacement
I ate the apple, my eyes are open
why? curiosity: the death potion

And I sit here now, with a smile
knowing it shall fade afterwhile
I tasted wines I should not taste
and visited places which reserved not my space

Treading waters not my own
invading and plaguing foreign homes
when all's said and done, what's done stands alone
attempting to shackle us, to impede us from where we go

And I a fool, am filled with cheer
but will spill tears when tomorrows here
and I, a fool, shall not fear
the burden which I have to bare

I cringe not at lashes, nor at whips
and blink not at nails piercing tips
but i, a fool, shall close my lips
and regret today, when next daybreak hits
